How does the hypnotic therapy works

As per the work of Sigmund Freud – the human mind can be divided into three areas of conscious, subconscious and unconscious. Hypnotism works at a relaxed state where the mind sinks and rewrite or reprogram our subconscious. Freud believed, the conscious mind is the top or shallowest part of the mind and this part of the mind will be responsible for making sense of the things we directly know of – like stress levels.

The subconscious mind comes under the consciousness, this is a deeper level it is therefore not so easily accessible and can controls feelings or reactions to certain situations or circumstances, about what we have acquired through experiences and situations in the past. It controls and regulates the fundamental bodily functions, namely breathing.

The unconscious mind is the deepest part of our mind and is most difficult to get to- it includes suppressed memories, experiences, situations of traumatic events.

Through continuous physical and mental relaxation, self-hypnosis makes people into conscious minds and introduce positive thoughts and ideas into an unconscious level of mind.  Hypnotherapy is not a quicker solution, it requires perseverance and practice for the subconscious mind to take up the innovations in thoughts. At the awakening of the hypnotic state the new thoughts, emotions, ideas in the subconscious will affect the conscious mind and can lead to changed behaviours.

Hypnotic counselling for counsellors

A counsellor uses hypnosis knowingly or unknowingly. For the counsellor to learn hypnosis and use it consciously, instead of letting chance determine whether or not the client gets into that state. It’s important for counsellors to study and grab the process of Hypnosis. Hypnosis is not only powerful but its also the tool to formulate a change at both conscious and unconscious minds.

Hypnosis can make the patient to cope up with anxiety or pain, to gain control over certain behaviors that are not appropriate to situations and unpredictable. Hypnosis can make someone open more to suggestions compared to during a normal state of being. Hypnotherapy patients should make sure that they don’t lose control over their behaviour during the period of treatment.
